RYAN BRETON
METEOROLOGIST
Ryan Breton is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist at NEWS CENTER Maine, NBC affiliates WCSH in Portland and WLBZ in Bangor, Maine.
In addition to forecasting, Ryan is a utility player – reporting in the storm, enterprising local science stories, and explaining science in a relatable way to the viewer.
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Penn State, one of the best atmospheric science programs in the country. Ryan led the Campus Weather Service, where he started a partnership with The Weather Channel and appeared live on the network during college.
He was awarded the prestigious GEMS Diamond Award at graduation, recognizing the most well-rounded student who demonstrates excellence in academic achievement and community involvement.
Before joining NEWS CENTER Maine, Ryan began his on-air career at NH1 News in Concord, New Hampshire, and previously worked as an intern at WCVB-TV in Boston.
Outside of the work, you can find Ryan enjoying the weather skiing, golfing or running.
